Outpost 31 is an epic dark atmospheric instrumental music track from Simon Wilkinson featuring cinematic strings, subtle piano, low horns, heavy medium-tempo Led Zeppelin-style drums and percussion.
Inspired by the ominous atmosphere of the classic John Carpenter movie The Thing, the music has an epic, atmospheric, icy winter feel. Moody strings and heavy drums tinged with elements of electronica and dark piano combine to form a big sound with a mysterious sense of impending danger or survival that would work well for geographic documentaries and nature or history TV trailers.
Important note: If you intend to license Outpost 31 for use on YouTube, you may find you get an incorrect Content ID claim saying that the track is actually a track called “Filth Friends Unite” by I See Stars. The two tracks are completely different in every respect so it seems to be caused by an error in the Content ID database but the record company responsible are ignoring my contact (see this post). You can safely file a dispute selecting the option “The video is my original content and I own all of the rights to it” and then add a note saying “This track has been wrongly identified by Content ID and is actually a completely different track called Outpost 31 by Simon Wilkinson who owns 100% of the copyright and is used with his permission. This issue has previously been explained to WMG so please release this claim.” – the claim should then be released but it may take up to 30 days to clear. No monetization will be lost during this period. This issue only relates to use on YouTube but please contact me if you have any problems.
This mp3 track is also available from these websites and online stores but if you want to use the music in your video you’ll need a license which is only available here at thebluemask.com:
