My name is Simon Wilkinson, I’m a composer for film, documentary, TV and other visual media. I’ve written and produced music for many projects including trailers for Fox’s 24, full length feature films, documentaries, TV commercials and trailers, short films, websites, DVDs, music libraries and many other visual media projects.
My music styles range from atmospheric ambient soundscapes to dramatic orchestral action tracks. Although I’m comfortable writing in most styles of music, my natural sounds tend towards dark, atmospheric, often melancholy genres. Whether I’m writing on piano, guitar, or with electronic or orchestral arrangements, I try to create a strong sense of texture and cinematic atmosphere.
I have a wide range of tracks that can be licensed at very reasonable rates or I can write music to your brief for your project. To hear examples in a wide range of categorised music styles from dark and atmospheric ambient soundscapes to exciting dramatic orchestral action tracks, check out my online music shop where you can instantly buy and download music and licenses:
I also have a range of royalty-free music collections available – once you buy any of these collections, you can use the music in an unlimited number of your films, trailers and documentaries (ideal for student and independent filmmakers):
Or just check out the main area of my website which has lots of information about me, my music, showreels as well as resources for filmmakers and composers:
Hopefully, my music will also appeal to music lovers as well as film and documentary makers and production companies looking for music. I write music in styles that I like to listen to as well, so I try to make it as far from cheesy stock music as possible. See some examples of my visual work above or check the main site or shop areas where you can listen to the music by genre/style. Feel free to get in touch with any questions or comments.
