Documentary
(science/history/nature)
Evolution: The Grand
Experiment
Audio Visual Consultants Inc.
2009
Evolution: The Grand Experiment is a documentary
show which I composed the music score for. Based
on his best-selling book, Dr. Carl Werner explains
the framework for the theory of evolution to the
public and enlightens the viewer with scientific
pros and cons offered by the some of the worlds
most respected scientists interviewed during his
travels.
The approach Dr. Werner takes in explaining some
of his findings is both refreshing and appealing,
always allowing the reader to reach their own
conclusions.
The music for the documentary ranges from lighthearted
with quirky plucked pizzicato strings, acoustic
guitar and piano to darker organic soundscapes
and atmospheric sounds.
The show is scheduled for broadcast on TV channels
in the US as well as internationally.
After seeing the new Watchmen movie trailer, I
had a track I was working on that I thought might
go well with the visuals. The track is called
Scorpio and is available in full here.

purposes only.)
The
Thing (Trailer) (Unofficial
demo music) 2009
The 2nd of my rescore demos is for John Carpenter's
The Thing. The track Outpost 31 was inspired
by the visuals & feel of the 1982 classic
movie. See it here against the original theatrical
trailer and you can buy the full track here.
(This video clip is a personal demo for promo
purposes only.)
Ronin
(Film Clip) (Unofficial
demo music) 2009
As another demonstration of some of my scoring
techniques, I wrote some demo music against the
classic car chase scene from Ronin. Written to
demonstrate some of my film scoring techniques,
the track is called The Getaway and is
available in full here.
(This video clip is a personal demo for promo
purposes only.)
Attack
Of The Machines (Trailer) (Unofficial
demo music) 2010
For my orchestral action track Attack Of The
Machines, I cut together some video footage
from the trailer for Terminator Salvation as a
test promo (and as a way of learning the basics
of Sony Vegas editing suite). The full track is
available to buy and license from my mp3 music
shop here.
(This video clip is a personal demo for promo
purposes only.)
Casshern
(Trailer) (Unofficial
demo music) 2010
This promo clip is from the cult 2004 Japanese
futuristic fantasy movie Casshern written
and directed by Kazuaki Kiriya. The music is a
new orchestral action track I've written called
Titan which is available from my mp3 music
shop to download or license for use in your own
film or trailer here.

purposes only.)
Moving
Image Artwork (atmospheric piano)
Still
Life: London Wyllie O'Hagan
2009
The moving image artwork, Still Life: London explores
a quest for stillness in a hectic world. Two screens
project moving images with piano soundtrack. One
screen shows a personal collection of still, quiet
life objects, beautifully considered and composed,
revealed at a reflective pace. The second screen
shows abstract energetic lines wildly draw with
light.
Buy the piano track 'Leaving Paris' in my mp3
shop here.
Nature
Footage (ambient/atmospheric)
Antarctica BBC
2007
BBC footage of icebergs & glaciers in Antarctica,
scored with a hypnotic and atmospheric ambient
soundtrack.
You can buy the full 7 minute ambient music track
as a CD quality mp3 here.
Think Brian Eno, Harold Budd, Stars Of The Lid,
Biosphere, Vangelis, Solaris etc.
Short
Film Trailer (thriller/drama)
Spare
Change Spyce TV (Dir: Eric Omani)
2007
Atmospheric short drama/thriller film score. After
a night out, three friends miss their last train
home. Not happy with the long walk home, they
decide to take a short cut through a nearby park
and unexpectedly witness an unspeakable act. In
the hours that follow, they are forced to return
and end a mystery with a chilling conclusion.
Sports
Promo (action/excitement)
Prodrive
Motorsports Prodrive
2005
Here's an old one for fun. Prodrive ran a competition
with Sound On Sound to score a rally driving clip.
I didn't send my entry in as I thought the terms
were too restrictive against the composer (as
is pretty common these days...) but had a bash
at composing just as an exercise. I developed
the music further into a full track which became
Mercury
Ridge.
Thanks to Youtube's compression techniques, the
video's sound is not as clear or dynamic as the
original
(and the full track is 3:46 in length)
Feature
Film Score (drama/thriller)
The Club
Logun Media
2004
"Welcome to a place where everything goes
and where everything goes terribly wrong."
Original dramatic film score for full length feature
film thriller "The Club" starring Treva
Etienne (Black Hawk Down, Pirates Of The Caribbean),
Ilaria D'Elia (Gangs Of New York) and Arnaud Adam
(Chocolat).
"The Club" was my first full length feature
film score. The first clip is a short promo clip
showing a dramatic car chase action sequence from
the film. The second clip is the official trailer
from the film.
Original full score for film and trailer from film
composer Simon Wilkinson.
Pierre Laurent Wristwatches
One Track Mind Productions
2005
Set of three 15-second television commercials
from Canadian production company One Track Mind
for watchmaker Pierre Laurent. Music styles included
hip-hop and urban/dance.
I composed the music based on briefs from the
client which had three basic themes (from top): Nightlife/Stylish/Clubbing A group of young successful women
working and socialising with upbeat dance music.
Hip-hop/Urban/DJ A producer/DJ goes crate digging while
the artist writes ideas in the studio. Hip hop/urban
style music.
Elegant/Professional Young professional executive goes to
an invitation with upbeat jazzy music.
I was provided with the finished
video footage and then composed the music around
them based on the genre, pacing and themes of
the ads.
