My name is Simon Wilkinson. I'm a musician and soundtrack
composer for film and TV from Brighton, England.
I generally work with film directors, filmmakers, music
libraries etc. to create soundtracks, music and audio
design for their film scores, TV projects, and general
audio production.
I obviously like working with filmmakers who edit to
the soundtrack but I'm equally at home writing to picture
having scored several full length feature films, TV
ads, documentaries etc. where hitting the right cue
on time is critical. From 90 minute features down to
five second stings, I've had some good experience of
writing to picture.
I've a wide background in all styles of music from 70's
funk and rock to contemporary ambient and electronic
and modern orchestral work.
I can work on most sound/music projects including film
scores and trailers, TV commercials, idents and documentaries,
game soundtracks, radio programmes, production music
etc.
Click here for a list of credits
and here for some video examples
of my soundtrack scoring work. There's also reviews
of some of my tracks and work here.
If you're a composer or film music fan, you may find
some of the composer interviews
interesting.
I've also worked with singers/bands including songwriter
Mr Bennett (mrbennett.com)
and Brian Bell (under the name Maritime).
I play guitar, bass and keyboard and record and arrange
all the music at my project studio
which allows me to use pretty much any instrument including
realistic orchestral arrangements, strings, brass, drums,
piano, synths etc.
I'm available to create film soundtracks or music for
most projects so if you have any questions, drop me
a mail.
